But I am still puzzled…Why people who live in such a quiet part of the world write stories that are so dark and violent? I am not sure the dark and long winter nights are enough to explain. On the other side, why Italians love scandinavian noir so much? I feel it is so far (landscapes, culture, atmosphere…)

If you feel uneasy with these buzzwords and you think they do not tell the whole story, you might find interesting the book “Beyond quality …”. Though it refers mainly to early childhood education, its message is much wider.

Some food for thoughts …In more than 40 years the pre-schools of Reggio have never been evaluating themselves against some easy measurable predefined criteria, nor they have “tested” their children. …Still they are an example worldwide.

Libro comprato al volo e per caso. Quindi letto senza molte aspettative – Bello! Scritto in forma di conversazione-monologo, una buona metafora di un mondo in cui sempre piu’ spesso manca la voglia o la capacita’ di ascoltare e capire l’altro (e non solo da una parte!!). Bello anche il finale lasciato in sospeso, che conclude il libro riprendendo un elemento presente in tutto il libro: la possibilita’ di leggere la “realta’” in modi spesso diametralmente opposti.
